Cotton twill is a popular weave pattern that’s characterized by diagonal lines on the face of the fabric. The yarns are packed very closely together, resulting in that strong, thick fabric you know. This heavyweight weave is perfect for pants, jeans, and jackets.
Twill is a cotton fabric with two upper and lower twill and 45 degrees left angle. Obverse twill lines are obvious, motley twill is not very obvious on the reverse side. Warp and weft are interwoven at least once every two yarns. Warp and weft interweaving points are added to change the fabric structure, which is collectively called twill fabric.
There are pros and cons; the interlacing point in a complete tissue cycle is small, the float line is long, and the hand feel is soft. The fabric density is higher and the product is thicker.
Advantages:
1. Good moisture absorption, soft feel, hygienic and comfortable to wear;
2. Keep warm and comfortable;
3. Soft and close-fitting, good moisture absorption and air permeability;
Disadvantages:
1. The appearance is not sharp and beautiful, and it must be ironed frequently when wearing;
2. Easy to shrink and wrinkle, poor shrinkage resistance;
Twill cotton fabric can be divided into two kinds of coarse twilled and fine twilled.
Cotton yarn of no. 32 or above (up to 18 British counts) is used as warp and weft for denim; cotton yarn no. 18 or less (over 32 counts) is used as warp and weft for fine twilled.
The points of twill weave are continuous and diagonal, and there are three latitude and longitude lines in a complete weave, which can be expressed in fractional form. If 1/2 goes into a right twill, it can be read as one upper, two lower right twill or three right twill, where the numerator represents the number of points of a warp or weft in a perfect tissue, and the denominator represents the number of points of a warp or weft in a perfect tissue. The sum of the numerator and denominator represents the number of longitude and latitude lines of a complete organization. Show grain right oblique, show grain left oblique, the warp and weft interweave of twill organization is less than plain weave, reason is not as firm as plain weave fabric, but the feel of twill fabric is soft and smooth.
Twill fabric has white, bleached and miscellaneous colors and other types, commonly used for uniforms, sportswear, sports shoes, emery cloth bottom cloth and padding material. Wide bleached twill can be used as a sheet and printed as a sheet. Elementary and miscellaneous fine twill fabrics can be used as umbrella tops and clothing clips after finishing with electric light.
