Common dyes for polyester cotton fabric and their dyeing and printing properties
Poly-cotton fabrics consist of two fibers of different properties. When dyeing, to make the color of the two fibers uniform, it is necessary to use different methods, with two dyes on the fiber. Disperse dyes for polyester, reactive dyes and VAT dyes for cotton fibers, etc. Printing also generally uses two kinds of dyes dyed with fiber coating printing. Reactive dyes, VAT dyes and so on have been introduced in the dyeing and finishing processing of pure cotton fabric, not to repeat, the following main disperse dyes dyeing properties.
Disperse dyes are a kind of non ionic dyes with simple structure and strong hydrophobicity. Such dyes only have very low water solubility in water, in the dyeing of cluster dispersant, and disperse in the dye bath, by high temperature or carrier effect, the dye molecules into the fiber. Disperse dyes and other dyes on polyester are very high color fastness, chromatographic agents are complete, can also dye other synthetic fibers.
The dyeing and finishing of polyester-cotton fabric is divided into scouring and bleaching, dyeing, printing and finishing.
1.Bleaching
Polyester and other synthetic fiber, without natural impurities, bleaching process is simple. But t/C fabric contains cotton fiber, so t/C fabric scouring and bleaching process generally includes: grey cloth preparation, singeing, desizing, scouring, bleaching, mercerization and heat setting. In addition to thermal setting, other processes in cotton dyeing and finishing processing has been introduced, not repeated.
Heat setting is the process of heating the fabric at a high temperature for a time and then cooling it at an appropriate rate to keep the fabric in a certain size. The purpose of thermal setting is to eliminate the existing creases on the fabric, prevent the fabric from producing difficult to remove creases under hot and humid conditions, and improve the thermal stability of the fabric. At the same time, it can also improve the strength, feel, pilling and surface smoothness of the fabric to a certain extent, and also has a certain influence on dyeing performance. Polyester after other scouring and bleaching process, before dyeing or printing, the heat setting process is put in scouring and bleaching process.
2.Dyeing
In order to meet the requirements of simultaneous dyeing of two fibers in polyester-cotton blended fabric without damage, the polyester component in polyester-cotton can be dyed with disperse dyes, by high temperature and high pressure method or hot melt method and carrier method. High temperature and high pressure dyeing is the dyeing method of polyester in a closed high temperature and high pressure roll dyeing machine. Hot-melt dyeing method is a method that the fabric is soaked and rolled disperse dye suspension, pre-baked, and hot-melt fixed color on the hot-melt machine. Carrier dyeing method is a dyeing method that makes the polyester molecular chain "separate from each other" and relaxes the fiber structure by using disperse dyes under hot and humid conditions. Cotton components can be white according to the different fabric style, or with higher dyeing cotton dyes, such as reduction, activity, etc., set dyeing, monochrome or color effect. The dyeing of polyester-cotton fabric can be divided into one bath and two bath methods.
1) One-bath dyeing: two dyes and auxiliaries are placed in the same dyeing bath, and treated respectively after dyeing to make the two fibers colored. The process flow of dispersing/reducing one-bath method is: dip rolling dyeing solution - pre-drying - hot melting - dip rolling reducing solution - steaming - washing - oxidation - soap washing - drying
Disperse/reactive one bath dyeing process is: the pad dyeing and a preliminary drying - - drying - - hot melt - - steam - water - soaping - - washing, drying
Two-bath dyeing: the two-bath dyeing method is to first dye polyester with disperse dyes (using high temperature and high pressure method or hot melt method), and then dye cotton with cotton dyes (using immersion, roll dyeing or suspension to dye cotton), separate bath, reduction cleaning in the dyeing process.
3. Printing
The basic principle of polyester-cotton blended fabric printing is the same as dyeing. Polyester is dyed with disperse dyes and dilute fibers are dyed with popular, reductive, soluble VAT dyes. Both disperse dyes and cotton dyes should be added to the printing paste. After printing drying, the disperse dyes are dyed with polyester and then treated with other materials. Cotton dyes cotton fibers with dyes. Polyester-cotton blended fabric can also be painted printing.
4.Finishing
polyester-cotton blended fabric finishing, mainly durable pressing hot finishing, anti-oil finishing and heat setting finishing.
1) durable pressing finishing: polyester cotton blended fabric with finishing agent for durable pressing, the fabric has good dry and wet crease resistance, good elasticity and smooth appearance, made of clothing, and then the appropriate pressing treatment, can obtain clear and lasting skirt stream, even after several times of washing is still not out of shape.
2) Anti-oil pollution finishing: because polyester is hydrophobic and lipophilic material, it is especially easy to absorb oil pollution, so anti-oil pollution finishing is needed. There are two ways to prevent oil pollution finishing, one is a positive oil pollution finishing, the fabric after finishing, oil is not easy to touch: the other is a negative oil removal finishing, the role is to increase the hydrophilicity of the fabric, so that the oil is easy to fall off.
