Fabrics' small knowledge you don't know

① High-count and high-density fabrics: high-count refers to the yarn count (S is commonly used in China to represent its unit). The higher the count, the finer the yarns that make up the fabric. The correspondingly woven finished product will have a very thin and soft texture. Fabrics have higher requirements for processing procedures (including dyeing and finishing), so the cost is relatively high; generally speaking, animal and plant fiber yarns with more than 60 counts belong to high-count yarns, and chemical fiber yarns with more than 90 counts belong to High count yarn.

Density refers to the number of radial and weft yarns per inch of the fabric in the radial direction and the weft direction. It can be divided into warp yarn density and weft yarn density, referred to as warp density and weft density. Under normal circumstances, the fabric density exceeds 95 pieces/inch is high density.

② Interpretation of the logo: 110'' 60×40/173×120. Note: 110'' refers to the fabric width of 110 inches (110×2.54=279.4cm); 60×40 refers to the textile yarn with 60 counts of warp and 40 counts of weft; 173×120 refers to the density of the fabric and the density of 173 in the warp direction /Inch, the weft density is 120 strands/inch.

Fabrics are classified by organization

① Plain weave: It is made up of warp and weft interlaced one after another. The warp and weft yarns are interwoven once every other yarn. The organization points are frequent, the warp and weft yarns are closely connected, and the cloth body is strong and hard.

② Twill: Warp and weft are interwoven once at least once every two yarns. There are few interweaving points, the density of the weave fabric is higher, the cloth surface is thicker, and the three-dimensional sense of the weave is stronger.

③ Satin: The warp yarn and the weft yarn are interwoven once at least once every three yarns. There are front and back sides, and the interweaving points are the fewest, so the cloth surface is smooth, even and soft and full of luster.

Fabrics are divided by process

① Plain color: weaving first and then dyeing is called plain color.

② Yarn-dyed weaving: weaving after dyeing is called yarn-dyed weaving.

③ Printing: First dyeing and then printing is called plain printing, and the background color is called melon printing.

④ Jacquard: the pattern made by the jacquard machine is large jacquard; the pattern made by the dobby machine is small jacquard; the two-color weft jacquard is two-color jacquard; the weft jacquard with more than two colors is called multi-color jacquard; weaving first and then dyeing. The jacquard is called plain jacquard; the jacquard that is dyed first and then woven is called yarn-dyed jacquard.
