What is poplin fabric? Poplin generally refers to high - count yarn, high - density plain fabric. A textile product commonly referred to as "poplin" should meet three conditions to be considered poplin:

(1) the warp and weft yarn count must be more than 40;

(2) The meridional density must be more than 100 / inch;

(3) The density of warp yarn must be more than 20 threads higher than that of weft yarn.

(3)  if the difference between warp density and weft density is not much, it can only be called: muslin or flat cloth, only when the warp density exceeds the weft more than 20 roots can be considered as: poplin.

Poplin fabric features: all kinds of poplin fabrics have the characteristics of clean and smooth cloth surface, fine texture, full grain grain, shiny, bright and soft, soft and waxy feel. But poplin fabric has a big drawback, that is, the sewing of the clothing is easy to appear longitudinal crack, this is because the poplin, weft density difference is very big, the strength between the weft and the warp is not balanced, resulting in the meridional strength is greater than the weft strength nearly twice the result.
